Yeren - the aggressive monkey man from China

In China is the legendary ape-manYeren in Hubei Province regularly provide turmoil. His name means "wild man" and he should behave very aggressively. It is best to compare it with the mysterious Yeti or Bigfoot. He is considered a cryptid, but its existence could not be proved and alleged sightings of to this day Yeren are related to real existing Golden Monkey Monkey. Therefore it must be doubted whether the monkey-man actually lives and is in the Chinese province.
Behavior and appearance of Yeren
The Yeren is described as up to three meters high, he should erect move like a human being and long have droopy arms. Its coat is described as very dense, and the face of the yen should be naked. The coat color has been described in most cases as red, but there are also reports according to which it should be brown or gray. The face is supposed to be human-like, and it is said to have large ears, while the forehead of the Yeren, compared to other human beings, is described as higher.
The ape is very aggressive against humans, he has already attacked, injured and even killed them. In some cases, he even eaten them, and he was also responsible for the abduction and rape of women. According to a handful of reports, there are even Yeren-human hybrids.Contrary statements, however, report a peaceful behavior of the Yeren when he meets people.
The Yeren and Hubei Province
For more than 2,000 years there have been stories around the Yeren in the Chinese province of Hubei, but it was not until the 1940s that sightings were made that were not scientifically proven. The author Qu Yuan, who lived from 340 to 274 before Christ's birth, describes monkeys who have something in common with the Yeren.
For decades, attempts have been made to prove the existence of the Yeren, but like the Yeti, Bigfoot, Alma and Yowie, the evidence is missing. In the years 1976 and 1977 a large expedition with more than 100 participants took place, with the aim to find the "wild man" in Hubei. The expedition was triggered when, in May 1976, a monkey-like creature, which had a red coat, was sighted in the vicinity of the Shennongjia forest area. However, the search for the group consisting of scientists, militants and journalists was without result.
In the course of time, supposed remains of the Yeren were found, but in the end it turned out that they were only known monkey species. According to a media report, the existence of the mysterious monkey system in 1980 was proved on the basis of hands placed in brine, which were said to have come from a Yeren shot in 1957. The analysis of the hands, however, revealed that the limbs were from a macaque.
Is the Yeren a surviving giant monkey?
According to cryptologists, the Yeren could be a surviving species of the gigantic gigantopithecus, which lived on Earth for eight million to 100,000 years. According to scientific studies, the gigantopithecus was over 500 kilograms and must have been at least 1.80 meters in size. Until now only teeth and jaw pieces have been discovered by the giant monkey. A hitherto unknown species of the orangutan could also be considered a Yeren because of the red coat color.
In the province of Hubei, there is a cave to serve the Yeren as a habitat, and before entering this cave warning red characters. Of the mystic monkey man, which is very probably only a fable, there are still no pictures and videos. The mystery will remain a mystery until real evidence of its existence has been found. A new expedition with modern technical equipment such as drones and infrared cameras could help to find the aggressive and peaceful giant monkey in the area around Hubei. In the near future, however, no new Yeren expedition is planned.

Mystery Of Mummified Monster Found In Serbia

The mummified remains of a mystery animal have been found in Siberia by diamond miners.

The creature was discovered in sands at Udachny, 1160 miles northwest of regional capital Yakutsk.

“The diamond miners who unearthed it believe the ‘monster mummy’ is a previously unknown kind of dinosaur,

Scientists however, were reported the be “less certain” and want to study the animal which was found at one of Russia’s major diamond mines.

Other theories suggest the mini-monster could be a wolverine -  a carnivorous mammal that resembles a small bear - or a sable or marten.

The mystery animal is due to be taken from Udachny - literally meaning ‘lucky’ - to Yakutsk for examination.

The diamondiferous sands where it was unearthed date from the Mesozoic Era from about 252 to 66 million years ago.

The town is famous for the Udachnaya pipe diamond deposit, discovered in 1955, and mined since the 1960s.

In 1974 a 1.7 kiloton atomic bomb was detonated 98 metres (322 ft) underground to create the basin for a tailings dam for the diamond mine.

Today’s climate in the area is extreme sub-arctic.

Footage of the odd creature shows it laid out on a table as a gathering crowd prods its scaly skin and head while lighting candles and incense.

The animal surfaced in High Rock, Wanghin in Thailand, and was born to a buffalo, local website Rath reported.

It was claimed the buffalo had given birth to a previous litter of perfectly healthy calves.

But exactly how the creature came to grow scales and form an elongated snout akin to a crocodile remains a mystery - though villagers now hope it will bring them good luck.

Real Supernatural Creatures?

Back in 1960 a demolition crew was tasked with clearing and pulling down a long-abandoned mansion formerly owned by a gentleman called Thomas Merrylin. A new modern residential quarter would take its place once the original building and its foundations had been removed.

Thomas Merrylin was born into an aristocratic family in London in 1782. Later becoming a highly respected Crypto-naturalist, Fringe Zoologist and Xeno-Archeologist. To say he a fascination with the dead and unusual is putting it mildly.

But before the demolition could begin, builders ventured into the property one last time. Deep down in the basement, they discovered one of the strangest collection of items in recent history.

Tucked away inside the dusty basement were several thousand small wooden boxes, each tightly sealed. One by one, each box revealed the remains and bodies of all kinds of creepy monsters and supernatural beings that seemed to exist only in the darkest of fairy tales.

Merlin's passion for esoteric natural history had seem him travel to some of the most unusual and strangest corners of the world searching for and documenting odd artifacts and unknown species of animals and plants.

Was he able to bring some of his discoveries back home? Did his travels inspire him create his own monsters? Or was it all just some kind of elaborate prank designed to shock and awe the public after his death?

To this day, there has been nothing more than speculation and conjecture over Merlin's true motivations. However, there is no denying it remains one of the most unusual and interesting discoveries in London's recent history.

Free and Best MMO Games to Play

Tera Online

Tera Online is such an anti p2w game that players who don’t care about costumes won’t even see much of a difference between paid and free play until end game. The company seems to make the majority of its money off of costumes and appearance changes, especially for its cuter character models. While there are some really great cosmetic options that may make you jealous, none of those give any statistical bonuses. In the end game, players who pay will essentially have higher drop rates for equipment compared than their 100% free to play counterparts. So free players will need to clear more dungeons or grind for more gold to make up for the RNG differences compared to paid players. But it’s a great system that simply saves paid players time without providing any permanent advantage. Tera Online really gets the time money equation right and avoids paying to win. Additionally, better equipment only goes so far because Tera Online twitch based combat means player skill counts for as much as player equipment.

Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 follows a similar model to Star Wars, encouraging free players to switch to paid by offering more convenience and more content. Unlike Star Wars though, players only need to buy the full priced game once to gain access to this content rather than pay a subscription. Most of this content becomes unlocked by the time the player reaches higher levels such as World vs. World at level 60 where hundreds of players fight hundreds of other over keeps, castles, and supply points  and at level 30 an automated ‘looking for group’ feature. These are always free for paid players. Those who buy the game also gain access to daily login bonuses, world transfers, more inventory spots, and more characters slots. Anyone can also buy gems to gain access to cosmetic content as well. Guild Wars 2 is fun from start to finish, which is ideal for any game, free to play or otherwise. Within a few hours, players can decide whether purchasing the game is worth it to upgrade their experience.

Armored Warfare

Those who have played World of Tanks before will be happy to see another tank simulator MMO enter the market without p2w game features. Although World of Tanks offers the same end game platform for free and paid players and isn’t a bad choice, there’s a lot more of a grind involved to get to and stay at the top. Armored Warfare doesn’t have as many premium features that players have to pay for in order to compete in top tier combat. The thing that World of Tanks players view as most pay to win is premium ammo, and that’s not something Armored Warfare sells. Of course players will gain access to better tanks faster in Armored Warfare, but the economy in the game is a lot more fair compared to its closest competitors. Instead of worrying about paying in game money just to use their tanks effectively, players in Armored Warfare can instead look ahead to which tanks they want next.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

In Star Wars: The Old Republic, the pay shop is setup for convenience and access to content. Certain costumes are available only by paying money, but they do not enhance the character’s power. Most players who pay will choose the subscription model as that’s what Bioware incentivizes the most. Paying for the subscription permanently unlocks the credit cap (which can be removed temporarily by free players) , gives players EXP faster, adds rest EXP, and adds unlimited access to special content such as Cartel Warzones and Space missions. However, there are plenty of other options for advancing through both PvP and PvE outside of this special content. Free players can get really far into the game without noticing restrictions and even when the decision comes to possibly pay for the game, it’s not very expensive. In some ways, Star Wars offers a really, really long demo for free players and a subscription simply unlocks maximum fun.

Lord of the Rings Online

Lord of the Rings Online offers a really great free to play model for those who hate pay to win games. Instead of focusing on convenience, the company chooses to focus on providing content to players. This content can be unlocked individually for those who prefer to take their time. For those who play more regularly, a subscription will be more efficient. All of the expansion areas such as Moria and Helm’s Deep and mode games such as monster play must be paid for with real money. Players who spend money will also level up a bit faster, but this has no impact of long term strength capabilities. There are several small benefits for becoming a paid player as well, but access to the entirety of the game world is the biggest boon for those who decide to pay money. Lord of the Rings is something that really can be enjoyed by purely free players, especially those who play more casually.

League of Legends (LOL)

Although League of Legends’ status as an MMO is debatable, given that players only interact with 9 others at a time, it does offer a great free to play model. As a MOBA, players take on the role of a single champion for roughly a 30-minute 5v5 match. These champions gain levels and buy items in the confines of an individual game, which do not persist between games. The player’s account does level up to give access to runes and masteries, which slightly boost the champion’s strength. However, players are always matched against others around their same level so there’s no benefit in a competitive sense to paying money to level up faster. Where the game really makes money is off of skins for champions to change their appearance and from buying the champions themselves. Every champion can be purchased with real money or in game currency. And the champions that cost more aren’t necessarily more powerful. It’s entirely possible to play League of Legends competitively with a relatively small roster of champions. More champions does provide more variety which can be part of the fun for some in a game like this. League of Legends is absolutely not a p2w game and is a very fair game to play completely for free.

Astro Empires

Astro Empires is by far the most pay to win game on this list. However, it is the most fair out of all of the empire building browser games out there that I could find. It’s mainly on this list to provide an MMO browser strategy game that isn’t pay to win for those interested. Whereas most of these empire building games give you straight power for cash, Astro Empires simply caps your maximum strength until you pay for premium time. What’s the difference? Well in a browser empire MMO, like Wartune for example, players can build armies, structures, and resources as fast as they want by paying money. Players can literally finish buildings instantly that take free players over one day of waiting to finish. There’s no cap to this ‘instant building finish’, and it’s easy to see how much of a pay2win game scenario this creates. In Astro Empires, players simply can’t expand their empire past a certain point without paying. So to grow into a massive empire, players much spend money. However, players can’t spend tons of extra cash to get ahead like they can in a game like Wartune. The premium time isn’t too expensive either, and the game can be played without limitations for long enough to get a feel for the game. There’s no fully fledged empire building MMO where free players can truly compete with paid players, but Astro Empires seems the least egregious of the bunch.

Aura Kingdom

There are lots of cute JRPG style MMORPGs out there, and almost all of them have the fatal flaws of boring combat and a pay to win cash shop. This game does away with both of these flaws while still retaining the light, fun gameplay that players seek in JRPG style MMORPGs. Combat is outside the scope of this post, but is improved by the Eidolon system that allows players to summon creatures to aid them in combat. More importantly, the cash shop is all about cosmetic play and temporary buffs. Cosmetics are a huge part of a heavily stylized MMORPG like Aura Kingdom so it’s no wonder that the developer choose to make money mainly from MMO costume lovers. Players can also purchase temporary buffs to overcome PvE content, but it’s something that mainly casual players will want rather than the hardcore players. The game is very solo friendly so it unlikely to be necessary or veterans of the genre. If you like this style of MMORPG, but have been burned before by unfair end game cash shops then Aura Kingdom is worth playing.

Warframe

Warframe is an example of a game that chooses to do free to play by giving players quicker access to more options and more content. Similar to MOBA champions, Warframes differ in the role they offer to a party and their playstyle but aren’t necessarily stronger than one another. They also must still be individually mastered through in game play so players will not simply be able to reach the top through paying cash. Similar to Guild Wars 2, the premium currency can be sold/traded between players. This allows all players to purchase equipment components and the convenience driven items that comprise the majority of the cash shop. Free players may consider acquiring top tier equipment to be a bit of a grind without paying money. However, Warframe offers a ton of interesting missions that can be completed solo or as a group. Reaching the top is certainly faster with money in Warframe, but all players regardless of spend will cap out at the same power level. If you are more about the journey than the destination, Warframe is a solid sci-fi, action based MMORPG.

Wildstar

When Wildstar launched, it did so as a subscription only game without fully realized content true to their vision. As the game has grown and recently gone free to play, things are a lot better all around. Most importantly, free players in Wildstar will barely notice what they’re missing by not paying. Advancement in this game comes at a fair rate, with plenty to explore and do without having to repeat the same content (until end game raiding, like any MMO). However, paying money will help the player level up faster. Premium players’ biggest bonus is lowered reduction from crafting based overcharging. Basically, when crafting a player can pump up their weapon strength even higher by overcharging it. Failure will result in a loss of materials, which will need to be gathered once again. Overall, it’s just another way to limit the time sink of Wildstar but doesn’t impact long term power. Wildstar doesn’t gate any of their content behind a paywall, and the game can easily be played as a fully fledged free player for as long as one wants.

Imoogi The Korean Dragon Mythology

Imoogi Mythology

Korean dragons are legendary creatures in Korean Mythology and folklore, the appearance of the dragon reflects its influences from its counterpart, the Chinese dragon.

Korean folk mythology states that most dragons were originally Imoogis, or lesser dragons, which were said to resemble gigantic serpents, there are a few different versions of Korean folklore that describe what imugis are and how they aspire to become full-fledged dragons.

Koreans thought that an Imugi could become a true dragon, or yong or mireu, if it caught a Yeouiju which had fallen from heaven.

Yeouiju is the Korean name of the mythical Cintamani.

Dragons in Korean mythology are primarily benevolent beings related to water and agriculture, often considered bringers of rain and clouds, where as most dragon in European mythology are linked to the elements of fire and destruction.

The Korean dragon is in many ways very similar in appearance to dragons of Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese mythology, it differs from the Chinese dragon in that it developed a longer beard.

By other accounts, and Imugi is a proto-dragon which must survive one thousand years in order to become a fully fledged dragon, in either case they are said to be large, benevolent, python-like creatures that live in water or caves, and their sighting is associated with good luck.

The symbol of the dragon has been used extensively, both in Korean mythology and ancient Korean art,

Fail Genetic Experiment on Dog?

With a mohawk-style plume of hair and pink flesh covered in leopard-esque spots, the mysterious animal terrified locals in Xinxiang, Henan province
Xinxiang is close to several scientific research centres and a local medical school - and locals became convinced the creature was an experiment gone wrong, on the run from a nearby lab.
One witness said: ‘The pink skin makes it look just like pig gone wrong in some sort of genetic experiment.’
But police say the dog is actually a pedigree breed called a Chinese crested hairless dog is a pet - and expensive.

‘It is definitely a dog, and quite an expensive one at that,’ said a spokesman.
The bizarre breed with just tufts of hair on its head and tail and a bare, spotted body regularly features as a contender in the World's Ugliest Dog contest.
One celebrated example, Yoda (pictured below), won the 2011 World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma Marin Fair for her short tufts of hair, protruding tongue, and long, seemingly hairless legs.
The 1.8lb pooch had lived a rough life before Terry Schumacher found her abandoned behind an apartment building and mistook her for a rat.
