Yeren - the aggressive monkey man from China

The Yeren and Hubei Province

For more than 2,000 years there have been stories around the Yeren in the Chinese province of Hubei, but it was not until the 1940s that sightings were made that were not scientifically proven. The author Qu Yuan, who lived from 340 to 274 before Christ's birth, describes monkeys who have something in common with the Yeren.

For decades, attempts have been made to prove the existence of the Yeren, but like the Yeti, Bigfoot, Alma and Yowie, the evidence is missing. In the years 1976 and 1977 a large expedition with more than 100 participants took place, with the aim to find the "wild man" in Hubei. The expedition was triggered when, in May 1976, a monkey-like creature, which had a red coat, was sighted in the vicinity of the Shennongjia forest area. However, the search for the group consisting of scientists, militants and journalists was without result.
In the course of time, supposed remains of the Yeren were found, but in the end it turned out that they were only known monkey species. According to a media report, the existence of the mysterious monkey system in 1980 was proved on the basis of hands placed in brine, which were said to have come from a Yeren shot in 1957. The analysis of the hands, however, revealed that the limbs were from a macaque.

Is the Yeren a surviving giant monkey?

According to cryptologists, the Yeren could be a surviving species of the gigantic gigantopithecus, which lived on Earth for eight million to 100,000 years. According to scientific studies, the gigantopithecus was over 500 kilograms and must have been at least 1.80 meters in size. Until now only teeth and jaw pieces have been discovered by the giant monkey. A hitherto unknown species of the orangutan could also be considered a Yeren because of the red coat color.

In the province of Hubei, there is a cave to serve the Yeren as a habitat, and before entering this cave warning red characters. Of the mystic monkey man, which is very probably only a fable, there are still no pictures and videos. The mystery will remain a mystery until real evidence of its existence has been found. A new expedition with modern technical equipment such as drones and infrared cameras could help to find the aggressive and peaceful giant monkey in the area around Hubei. In the near future, however, no new Yeren expedition is planned.

Mystery Of Mummified Monster Found In Serbia

The mummified remains of a mystery animal have been found in Siberia by diamond miners.

The creature was discovered in sands at Udachny, 1160 miles northwest of regional capital Yakutsk.

“The diamond miners who unearthed it believe the ‘monster mummy’ is a previously unknown kind of dinosaur,

Scientists however, were reported the be “less certain” and want to study the animal which was found at one of Russia’s major diamond mines.

Other theories suggest the mini-monster could be a wolverine -  a carnivorous mammal that resembles a small bear - or a sable or marten.

The mystery animal is due to be taken from Udachny - literally meaning ‘lucky’ - to Yakutsk for examination.

The diamondiferous sands where it was unearthed date from the Mesozoic Era from about 252 to 66 million years ago.

The town is famous for the Udachnaya pipe diamond deposit, discovered in 1955, and mined since the 1960s.

In 1974 a 1.7 kiloton atomic bomb was detonated 98 metres (322 ft) underground to create the basin for a tailings dam for the diamond mine.

Today’s climate in the area is extreme sub-arctic.

The strange looking animal has dark, scaly skin like a reptile and a crocodile-shaped head - despite being born from a buffalo.

Footage of the odd creature shows it laid out on a table as a gathering crowd prods its scaly skin and head while lighting candles and incense.

The animal surfaced in High Rock, Wanghin in Thailand, and was born to a buffalo, local website Rath reported.

It was claimed the buffalo had given birth to a previous litter of perfectly healthy calves.

But exactly how the creature came to grow scales and form an elongated snout akin to a crocodile remains a mystery - though villagers now hope it will bring them good luck.

Fail Genetic Experiment on Dog?

With a mohawk-style plume of hair and pink flesh covered in leopard-esque spots, the mysterious animal terrified locals in Xinxiang, Henan province

Xinxiang is close to several scientific research centres and a local medical school - and locals became convinced the creature was an experiment gone wrong, on the run from a nearby lab.

One witness said: ‘The pink skin makes it look just like pig gone wrong in some sort of genetic experiment.’

But police say the dog is actually a pedigree breed called a Chinese crested hairless dog is a pet - and expensive.

‘It is definitely a dog, and quite an expensive one at that,’ said a spokesman.

The bizarre breed with just tufts of hair on its head and tail and a bare, spotted body regularly features as a contender in the World's Ugliest Dog contest.

One celebrated example, Yoda (pictured below), won the 2011 World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma Marin Fair for her short tufts of hair, protruding tongue, and long, seemingly hairless legs.

The 1.8lb pooch had lived a rough life before Terry Schumacher found her abandoned behind an apartment building and mistook her for a rat.

Terrifying Sea Monster Washes up in Brazil

It looks like something from a terrifying horror movie, but this is the mystery Sea Monster creature that’s baffled experts after washing up on a tourist beach in Mexico.

The monstrous 4 meter (13 foot long) beast was discovered on Bonfil Beach, in the city of Acapulco, in the south-west Mexican state of Guerrero.

Stunned beach goers stood around the beast and began taking photos while also speculating on the possible species of the creature.

The creature’s body was washed on the shore by strong currents that have been affecting parts of the Mexican coast

Rosa Comacho, the coordinator of the Civil Guard and Fire Brigade believes the animal had not been dead for a long time but it has started to rapidly decay.

She said: ‘We have no idea what type of animal this is, but I do know that it does not smell bad or have a fetid aroma.

‘It is four meter long and was found on Bonfil Beach.’

The photos of the mysterious creature have since provoked huge debate online - with some suggesting that it might be a type of giant squid, while others have suggested that it is a whale.

Goblin Creature Caught in Camera

When an extraordinary photograph of a blurry “monster” emerges from the remote valleys around Beijing, online commentators are understandably liable to cry foul and dismiss it as an elaborate fake.

But a series of images showing a creature closely resembling the character “Gollum” from Lord of the Rings now appear to have turned out to be “genuine”.

The photos were captured by a Chinese tourist in Huairou, who claimed to have had an encounter with a “monster” with human-like form but enormous ears.

He said he and his friends were camping in the wilderness when he spotted the “creature”, and he quickly took a number of pictures on his mobile phone before it scampered away.

In posts online he said: “I walked far away to have a pee, and suddenly saw a monster. I took a few pictures of it, but I am now terrified by my courage then.”

The pictures were widely shared via Chinese social media – until one commentator said he thought he might be able to explain the bizarre occurrence.

While there is no way of verifying his comments, the amateur actor said that he is in fact the subject of the photographs – dressed up in prosthetics and a leafy loincloth.

“Over the weekend I and my friends went to the mountains to take a mini sci-fi film,” he wrote.

“And when I was having a pee a person popped up and took pictures of me and shot away.”
